1) If you missed our November 19 Chapter meeting you missed a great presentation! Mr. Owen Gibbs from the Northern Tier Wilderness Adventure was here and gave us a great presentation on the OA Adventure opportunity at Northern Tier. And he had presents for everyone who attended!
2) WE STILL HAVE ONE MORE ORDEAL WEEKEND AND BROTHERHOOD OPPORTUNITY!!! The weekend of December 6-8 at Worth Ranch! Please encourage all remaining candidates and Brotherhood-eligible Scouts to attend. We are still short of our number if our Chapter wants to achieve our Journey to Excellence objectives. Please, please, please come out!!! It's always lots of fun. I have again attached the Brotherhood questionnaire. If you're BH eligible and haven't paid your dues yet, earning your BH at this Ordeal will really help us toward our goals for this year and next year. 3) We once again have the OA unit elections coming up. If you'd like to volunteer to conduct elections, please speak to the Chapter officers. To complete all elections in a timely manner, all OA Troop Reps should attend and let us know when your unit would like to conduct an election. Otherwise, the Chapter will schedule an election for your unit and tell you when we will attend.
4) Section Conclave may seem far away, but that doesn't mean you can't get it marked in your calendar. It will be taking place on April 25-27 @ Camp Wisdom. Early Registration for the event will open up on November 1st! Go to http://www.sr2-3n.org to register for Section 2-3N Conclave! Our goal for our lodge is to get 165 Members at Section Conclave, so start promoting the event!
5) Our next Chapter meeting will be Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 7:30 pm. We will be doing the same thing we did last year - everyone is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift to the party, and we have a generous benefactor who has offered to buy pizza for everyone who attends. The gifts will go to Toys For Tots and be distributed to children less fortunate than ourselves. Let's show them our generosity and be "unselfish in service and devotion to the welfare of others."
As always, the Talahi Chapter meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, located at 601 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, TX 76010. Our next scheduled meeting is at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. The chapter officers and I would like to invite all Arrowmen to attend our meeting. If you're a regular attendee, it will be great to see you again. If you haven't been to a meeting in a while, please come and reconnect with the Order of the Arrow - we've missed you!
