Arrowmen:
1) This past weekend the
Talahi Chapter went all-out at the Cross Timbers District Camporee. Our
Ceremony Team conducted a callout and called out 20 candidates for the OA, and
then the team did OUR VERY FIRST BROTHERHOOD CEREMONY!!!! We now have 7
new Brotherhood members:
- Angelo Chiarello - Troop 222
- Roscoe Cliatt - Troop 222
- Brandon Cook - Troop 222
- Mark DesRochers - Troop 545
- Anthony Gaubatz - Troop 222
- Steven Nichols - Troop 630
- Godfred Paulan - Troop 222
Congratulations to
them! And congratulations to our great Ceremony Team!!! Hopefully,
we'll call more candidates out at the callout April 22 at 7:30pm at Pappy
Elkins Park. Then, our candidates will attend an Ordeal weekend and enter
the Lodge, and we'll have many more Brotherhood conversions throughout the
year!!
2)
All kinds of fun and exciting OA opportunities coming up - Section Conclave, another OA
Callout, and SR2 and CT Ordeals. Brotherhood Q&A
handouts will be available at the May Chapter meeting.
3) Time to pay your 2013 dues!
Still a bargain at only $10! Be the first on your block with a brand-new
OA membership card!! If Scoutmasters want to send a list of OA
members and a check, we can get all your cards to you at one time. Remember
to support the Lodge. The dues we collect are invested back into
funding camp improvements to make your camping experiences more
enjoyable.
If you have suggestions for meeting
themes or activities, tell your Chapter Chief. He wants to provide you with meetings
that are interesting and enjoyable.
The Talahi Chapter meets the 3rd
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, located at 601 W.
Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, TX 76010. We will next meet there at 7:30 PM on
Tuesday, May 21, 2013. The chapter officers and I would like to invite all Arrowmen to
attend our meeting. If you're a regular attendee, it will be great to see you
again. If you haven't been to a meeting in a while, please come and
reconnect with the Order of the Arrow - we've missed you!
