Downtown Arlington
The Arlington 4th of July Association is looking for Scouts to serve as Flag Bearers/Color Guards along our parade route and to help lead Parade spectators in singing our National Anthem
Need: Color Guards/Flag Bearers, in uniform, spaced along the entire 2 mile Parade route. The Color Guards/Flag Bearers may be as few as 2 Scouts (this is a minimum – bring as many along as you can). We are requesting one leader or parent and at least 2 scouts from each unit, in Class A uniform. Please bring an American flag and your unit flag.
When: Wednesday July 4, 2012, no later than 7:30 a.m. for check in. Scouts will deploy along the route at 8:15 a.m.
Where: UT Arlington Parking lot at the northeast corner of Doug Russell Rd. and West St. Maps and more info can be found on our website, www.arlington4th.org.
What: The Guards/Flag Bearers will be spaced evenly along the Parade route, while our announcing stands play the National Anthem. The Color Guards/Flag Bearers will be in the middle of the street to serve as a focal point for parade spectators. Each Scout should be in Class A uniform.
Why: This is an opportunity to showcase your troop to more than 40,000 people while showing your Patriotic Spirit and your Scout Pride!
How: Call or e-mail if you can help.
Thanks!: Each participating Scout will receive a commemorative patch.
