Hills & Hollows Work Day Details - 3/3/12

Hi all,

Frontier Trails District is looking to begin a yearly tradition of conducting a district-wide Work Day at Hills and Hollows.  Saturday could be a real help in the beatification of Hills and Hollows. We really need your support to spruce up Hills and Hollows.

If you can make it out to camp on Saturday, even for an hour or so, it could be a big help.

Take a look at the email string and the plans to accomplish some task to help the camp. 

The fun begins at 8:00 AM.

WORK DAY @ HILLS & HOLLOWS 

Saturday - March 3rd 8:00am - 2pm

Mission: Spring Cleaning

• Privet Removal

• haul privet brush, sticks & debris to chipper location
• mulch brush piles
• cut privet stubs and pongee sticks to the ground
• spread mulch on tent bed sites and trails
• hand clear hiking trails

• Repair lavatories plumbing

• replace sink in main bath
• add new toilet seats
• repair p-traps etc.

• Road Repairs from erosion

Skills Needed:  We will welcome all working hands from Cub, Scout and Adults

  **We have need of individuals with plumbing skill to fix the sinks and lavatories - please contact me directly as soon as possible if you have such skills for details JeffWawro@me.com

Tools Needed:

• Chipper to be provided by the Longhorn Council
• Flat-bed or dump trailers to haul privet debris to chipper
• Wheel Barrows
• To cut privet stubs and clear trails

• Weed Eaters with saw blades
• Long Handled Pruners - lots of them
• Machetes
• Hatchets 
• Short Chain Saws

• Hard Rakes
• To cut a drainage run off

• Shovels
• Picks

• Work Gloves
• Bring your own Water & Snacks
