Poppers-

There is still lots of opportunities to do Show and Sale. Kroger’s has allowed us to do sign ups through the council website. There are still lots of space for units. If your unit hasn’t done show and sale in the past give it a try. We will even help you decided how much popcorn to order. PLEASE SUBMIT SHOW AND SALE ORDERS BY AUGUST 7th.

Don’t forget to also ask your Charter Organization about doing a Show and Sale for them.

Cub Scouters-

We want to that those that attended the July Round Table on the Pack Planning Conference. For those of you that missed it we have attached the agenda from that meeting. We also have hard copies and a cd of all the materials that were passed out during this presentation. Please e-mail Kelsey or myself and we will work on getting your these items to you. You could also pick them up at the August 14^th Roundtable at a special time 7:00pm. The topic of discussion will be “More Fun with Friends” Badge. July Popcorn News

Good Job  Popping Hot District Kernels!

·         We have 34% of our shifts full for Kroger’s shift for Show and Sell, and starting tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. your units can sign up for 5 more shifts.  We have a strong team of volunteers leading this charge and I am proud to work with you!  We have had our eye on the Kroger ball and it is important that your people sign up with you for the retreat so we know how many Walmart cards to have for our retreats. 

·         Remember they have to stay and be trained for the retreat and at the end they receive a 20.00 Walmart card to be used for their popcorn kick off.  This is the same thing the youth can select when they sell 600 this year.

·         Thank you for all of your hard work on the front end, we need all District Kernels at retreats and if you are not available please let me know, so I can find a replacement person for your people.  Our last retreat date was set for Weatherford and the location is close to being secured (Aug. 4^th from 9:00-10:00 a.m.).

·         The leaders will receive Take Order Supplies, new ideas, and per unit (no multiples their thank you for attending the 20.00 Walmart card)

Kroger 2nd Round of Shift Selection

Popcorn Team:

Thank you for your patience, we have done our very best to make sure everyone knows that they can select 3 shifts earlier and now the anticipated 2^nd shift.

On July 10^th at 9:00 a.m. we are opening our site back up for additional shifts and your unit can select 5 more shifts per unit. 

Please help us out and copy your DE and myself with this email that you send out so your we know which districts we are missing an email from.  I know that this is time sensitive and we appreciate your concern on this.  If you have already sent this out, you might do it as a reminder on another day this week, or Monday but put reminder so they know you did it earlier.

Kroger SNS LIVE!! openings still available

There are still sites open for Arlington and Mansfield

IF you have ANY PROBLEM with the system - please contact Renee Horton Renee Horton rhorton@bsamail.org at the email address above.

 The heavily anticipated day is coming for Kroger Show & Sell reservations. The password for the reservation system will be 2012caramel.  The unit kernels need to go to www.longhorncouncil.org/Info/Support-Scouting/Popcorn.aspx to find the step-by-step instructions and the link to the reservations system.  They should print the instructions and follow them.  (A copy of the instructions are attached for your convenience.)  After following the instructions, if they still have issues they can request assistance by contacting 662finance@bsamail.org.  They need to remember a Scout is honest and they get 3 time slots.  After we have it out a while, we will allow more shifts to be selected. 

Important things to note:  The registration confirmation will show the Saturday date of Aug. 25^th at the top.  That is when our Kroger Show & Sell period begins for our council and doesn't reflect the slots the unit reserved.  They will need to look at the bottom of the confirmation sheet for the actual dates and times reserved.  Units must print the confirmation sheet and provide it to the store manager, if so requested.  The Kroger store manager will have a weekly list provided by the council, and those are the only units they will allow to set up and sell at that location.  We have over 800 slots, so there should be plenty of opportunities for all our units to sell.
